Nuxe Spa

Last week I spent the afternoon at Nuxe Spa in the 3rd near Etienne Marcel. It is one of the top spas  in  Paris according to Times Online and several Parisian spa blogs (bestspaofparis for instance). Although rue Montorgueil is a fairly bustling pedestrian street lined with cheese shops and bakeries, the spa itself is set back away from the noise and crowds in a quiet enclave. My boyfriend and I had reserved a couple’s spa package which meant we had a private hammam for 45 minutes followed by an hour and 15 minute massage. The privacy of the sauna was delightful but the massage left something to be desired. If you’re desperate for a massage or a spa day in Paris, this is a fine option, but don’t expect the quality you’d find at a destination spa in say New Mexico. Although we were given luke warm water and flimsy pint-sized slippers after the hammam, the post massage cookies and the funny paper boxers and panties (respectively) made this an amusing experience all around.
